About NYUSABDA:

Who we are:

USA Dance (formerly USABDA, the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association) is a non-profit organization established to further and promote the interests of ballroom dancers throughout the country, and the Greater New York Chapter fulfills that goal in the New York City metropolitan area, including Westchester and Long Island.

What we do :
Our chapter is geared towards social and competitive dancers who do a variety of dances, from the latin rhythms of Cha-Cha and Rumba, to the smooth stylings of Foxtrot and Waltz and all the great dances in between (like Tango, Hustle and West Coast Swing). Our chapter's primary activity is organizing and presenting one of the leading DanceSport competitions in the country, the Manhattan Amateur Classic.

Our Location:
Our chapter does not meet at any one location. Our events are held at various dance studios throughout the city. The best way to keep up to date on our activities is to check the NYUSABDA Forum or by subscribing to our weekly e-newletter. (See the link to the subscription form at the bottom of the righthand column.)

To contact the Board, send an e-mail to board@nyusabda.org If you wish to reach specific Board members, you can do so by addressing your e-mail to [firstname.lastname@nyusabda.org]. For example, to reach Robert Scibelli, send an e-mail to robert.scibelli@nyusabda.org

If you are interested in running for the Board, elections take place every two years. Our most recent one was held in September 2005. Our next election will occur in September 2007.
